| Vintage Russian Folk Art Clay Figure This Russian Folk Art hand-painted clay figure was made in the 1940's to 1950's as part of a cultural crafts revival in the former Soviet Union. These figures are made in exactly the same way they have been for hundreds of years in small villages across Russia as a cootage industry. These whimsical and colorful pieces portray various characters from well-known Russian folklore and fairy tales. This scene includes a seated man, a his goat, a bird sitting in a tree with a little 'mukhamor' or amanita mushroom growing at it's base. It is about 5 inches tall. It is in very good condition with a few spots wear the paint has worn off. Item #fa02 —SOLD— |
