19th C. Chinese Silk Embroidered Robe Fragment
This is a very lovely piece. The colors are exquisite and the stitching is so fine you can barely see them. There are many newer pieces on the market today, but this piece is definitely from the 19th C. These fragments of robes were so precious—every small scrap salvaged from an old worn out robe represented many hours of work and so were later finished off in a frame of brocade ribbon making them into small works of art.
